For representational artist Jan Lawnikanis, creating art is a strong force that is both stimulating and satisfying. Painting florals in watercolour is a particular passion and she strives to create pieces of truth and beauty that are a pleasure to live with and inspire the viewer. ‘Sunlight dancing on transparent petals, the nuances of colour in shadows and reflective lights art is my motivation to record nature at some of its finest moments.’ Jan’s work has won numerous awards and has been recognised in articles written about her in leading art magazines.
‘Quickly produced work is not my style. Focusing on details of the natural world is a contemplative experience and I enjoy the process as much as the outcome. By being immersed in the study of God’s creation, I aim to achieve a sense of quiet and stillness in my work.’ Jan has been teaching for more than 20 years and enjoys the challenge of learning new skills and finds it especially beneficial to be able to pass on new techniques to her students.
Jan offers classes and workshops in a variety of media. Bookings essential.
